As a result of yesterday’s ranting…

Well, even after my long bitching rant about my crippling indecisiveness, I still couldn’t pick a single picture to work on. So I figured, why not start a project I’ve had in mind for a good while now?

Basically, Michelle takes pictures. Some of those pictures are polaroids. Michelle loves polaroids. I love polaroids. I also love to draw. So this is picture 1 / ??? of the Aviva/Michelle polaroid project.

Amazingly, I went through the whole damn insecure process I was talking about yesterday with this piece. Honest to god. I started off all “Oh shit, oh shit, what am I doing? This is one of my favourite polaroids and I’m ruining it with my COMPLETE AND UTTER INABILITY TO DRAW. WHAT THE FRAK. I totally suck, I can’t draw faces and bodies, I have no idea how to do backgrounds, blah blah blah.

But in the end, amazingly, I’m pretty happy with this piece. The face is a bit screwy, I’ll admit. But other than that, I’m really happy with the look of it, it’s much more painterly than usual for me. And I’m pleased with that!

And now I’m off to Ottawa for a day to see my sister and her girlfriend before they leave for Colorado. Toodles.

 Oh man oh man oh man I’m excited we should make a book that no one will buy yeah!
